It’s going to be a runoff…

…in Phoenix City Council District 7. With 15 of 16 precincts reported, Laura Pastor has 40.91% of the vote and Michael Nowakowski has 32.59%. It has been frustrating to see the constant attacks coming out of the Nowakowski camp. No matter what the outcome, it hurts his chances of building relationships with various constituent groups in the future, which won’t serve the residents he is hoping to represent. I personally find it difficult to respect any candidate who runs on attacks rather than a positive vision for the future. May the best woman win!

I completely agree. Negative campaigning is just a distraction. May the best woman win!

I didn’t follow the race much, but I was bugged a little by the attacks on Pastor.

Michael Nowakowski seems like a good guy and the negative campaigning doesn’t reflect well on him, IMO. But sadly, the negative stuff seems to work. The Republicans have been succeeding with it for decades, so I can see where Nowakowski’s campaign would figure they could get traction with it.
