Two days left to apply for the Emerge AZ Class of 2008
Posted by: Krista
I know, I know, nothing like a bit of procrastination - for you and me both, sister. For me, it’s been a full month with work and National Novel Writing Month (trust me when I say I’m woefully behind on writing) and fundraisers and such. But there’s no time like the present to urge you to take advantage of the two days left to finish and submit your Emerge Arizona Class of 2008 applications.
Yes, that’s right. You still have time to apply for one of those 15 to 25 coveted spots in the Emerge AZ class. And let me tell you, it’s worth the time and effort. You’ll receive training by some of the best women (and occasional men) in their field; network with elected officials, directors, and other various and sundry fabulous women (like some of the Democratic Diva authors!); and prepare to run for office yourself, run a campaign, volunteer for candidates, or get involved with your local democratic groups.
This is a chance of a lifetime.
I can’t speak for other graduates, but for me, coming from Corporate America, which isn’t conducive to political involvment, I learned more than I dreamed possible about the inner workings of campaigns. The women I met through Emerge Arizona are inspiring, motivated, encouraging, and supportive. They give me hope for this state.
(Graduates, feel free to post your encouragement to potential applicants in the comments.)
You have two days left! Don’t let this opportunity pass you by.
