AZ Presidential Preference Primary!

Our Presidential primary is rapidly approaching — it is a little more than 2 months away, and a little more than a month before early voting starts.

The primary is only open to Democratic voters. This is different than our state elections in which Independent voters may choose a ballot when they vote in the September primary. If you want to vote in the Presidential Preference primary you must be registered as a Democrat by January 10.

Our selection of Presidential nominee is also a tiered system with the primary, then a caucus. The details are set forth in www.thegreenpapers.com/P08/AZ-D.phtml.

The first step to all of this is to attend the AZ Democratic Party’s trainings on the primary and delegate selection. You can read the full file on azdem.org. The trainings are being held now through December.

Given Arizona’s proud history of supporting women (and the national prominence of our current leader, Governor Napolitano), we need to make sure women are represented in the delegation from Arizona in Denver this summer!

I was just talking about the rules for voting in the presidential primary with some co-workers. Thanks for adding this!
