Loyalty and Politics & Looserman
Posted by: Dana
I got my start in politics by working with union retirees. There is no more loyal person than a retired union member and the UAW and Steelworkers and Teamsters will always have a place in my heart. Talk about solidarity, they knew who their brothers and sisters were and they would go to war to protect them. They taught me almost everything I know about politics and unions. I have some great stories to tell and if time permits I will give a tribute to a few of them who stood by me and up for me. It is always sad to see people who do not truly understand this principal and take a walk to the dark side. They often do it for political posturing and those are the ones we call slime. They might also do it because they just seem to have lost their way or they think they are above it all.
People who know me often refer to me as Dana the Democrat- I am a loyal democrat and will try not to blog badly about Democrats - I will just take a pass. Well when it comes to former Joseph Lieberman he is no longer a Democrat so he is FAIR game for this dem diva. It drives me crazy to see Lieberman arm and arm with McCain. This is a former dem that has lost his way or is politically posturing. First off lets go back in time to Nov. 2000. Do we recall Lieberman on Meet the Press when he said he would require all the military ballot be counted no matter when they were dated? We lost FL by 537 votes. I don’t need to say anything else. I was loyal to Lieberman - I traveled Florida with his mom and son.
It was bad enough that he took a walk down the dark side with the war and the Bush administration but to now go traveling with John McCain to the Middle East. What is he being promised? Does McCain really think Lieberman will help him with the independents? Well one thing from this dem diva- I have lost respect for Lieberman- there are some things you don’t do and switching parties to an independent is one thing. Supporting the opposite party and working against the party that brought you to the party crosses the line.
Now I know why they called him Looserman! This is a name that seems to suit him.

ugh. looserman is right. thanks for talking about this. lieberman isn’t discussed much out west but he really is the epitomy of switching sides for political gain. i dont understand how someone can throw their ideals out the window for politics. then again, i would probably make a bad politician.
