This story has so many twists and turns I have a hard time staying focused!

As soon as I received the invitation I sent it around to a few people and knew we needed to give the two I nice warm welcoming.  The last time the two were in Arizona together was for a town hall meeting on Social Security.  We decided we would do a press conference and then join with others in a peaceful protest.  Yesterday morning I got word that the event at the convention center was CANCELLED!  Now who cancel’s a fundraiser on Friday when the event is Tuesday.  I guess they are saying it isn’t cancelled it is moved because the Arizona AFL-CIO, the Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans and a few others would be protesting and they wanted to avoid us- yeah OK, I believe that.  Move an event from the convention center to a home…..hmmmm- somethings not right.    Well if you are running for President of the United States and you are trying to “help” out your friend who is running to replace you, I guess you cancel if there will be more protesters than donors.  Word is the big fundraiser was not going to be to big!  Yep get that McCain can’t even raise money in his own state!  The event got moved to a house.  Now the spokesperson for the convention center said they didn’t even have a contract.  Maybe the contract got shredded.

I managed to get my hands on one of the invitations and this is where it gets good.  The person who is a “maverick”  and championed campaign finance laws seems to know all the loop holes.  This is where the money will go……

For individuals the first $2,300 to JM2008, the next $2,300 to the Compliance Fund, the next $28,500 to the RNC, and the balance of up to $37,000 will be divided evenly between the Colorado, Minnesota, New Mexico and Wisconsin state parties’ federal accounts.  Notice Arizona is not even mentioned!  Then if you are a couple the numbers are doubled.  For Federal and Multi-candidate PAC’s the first $5,000 to JM 2008, the next $5,000 to the compliance fund the next $15,000 to the RNC, and the balance of up to $20,000 will be divided evenly between the Colorado, Minnesota, New Mexico, and Wisconsin state parties’ federal accounts. They were planning on this event to be a HUGE fundraiser- this was not your typical house party fundraiser.

This was obviously suppose to be a huge fundraiser in McCain’s home state.  The Arizona Republican Party does not even promote or benefit from the event.  The event is canceled on a Friday before a three day weekend.  This is just more evidence of why the Democrats can beat McCain in his own home state.

To make this story even better Michelle Obama will be in town for a fundraiser right across the street at the Wyndham hotel.  Now won’t it be great if that event is larger and more successful than the McCain/Bush fundraiser?

Stay tuned on Tuesday at 5:00 at the convention center.  I hear the protest is still on and to make the evening news folks from the Arizona AFL-CIO and the Arizona Allinace for Retired Americans will get in a limo and get dressed up for the fundraiser at the convention center that was moved to an undisclosed location.  Have fun Bush and McCain!

This is awesome news that things are looking so bleak for McCain here in his own state. How embarrassing (for him anyway) to lose in his home state. I am planning to be there at the protest. Just say no to more of the McSame!!!

Ha, the “champion” of campaign finance is truly a maverick, isn’t he? Baloney!

Can’t wait to attend the fundraiser, err, I mean, protest!

That all sounds shady - and mysterious - to me. Maybe McSame is worried about losing his temper with all those protestors. We all know that’s bound to happen eventually!
