They are all about a meritocracy, so long as it is confined to a certain class. Oh, what am I saying? They don't care about merit at all! The good positions are for the wealthy sons of the 'right' families. Even if said sons graduate at the bottom of their class at the Naval Academy, and after more than 2 decades in Congress cannot explain basic economic concepts and give responses to foreign policy queries that are worthy of a Miss Teen South Carolina contestent. When presented with a Barack Obama, they can barely contain their fear and hostility. When they call him "elitist" it's not about his money. He is smarter, and better than they are and they know it.
