The jail is MCSO’s house. That is their building. Healthcare is provided by Correctional Health Services, a completely -different- department from MCSO. Order’s don’t come down from Sheriff Joe, they come down from the head honcho’s with CHS. Why people get so confused and think it’s Sheriff Joe, is because CHS works in MCSO’s house. They work -under- MCSO but are -not- affiliated with MCSO.

The problem that ties in with Sheriff Joe is, even though he does not provide the healthcare, it is -his- duty as Sheriff to make sure CHS is adequately providing healthcare to -HIS- inmates…. which he didn’t do and which CHS does not and this is why they are in the predicament they are in.

Joe Arpaio can’t tell them what to do, and they probably wouldn’t do it just out of spite anyway. This is just another one of the many fallacious strikes against Joe that his detractors like to blather on about.

If he’s so bad, I wouldn’t think you’d have to make stuff up.

Now, the democratic candidate is something else altogether. His character weakness is recorded on video, and comes from his own lips.

I was terminated in June this year and the main problem the “staff” had with me is that I -respected- the inmates and in return they -respected- me. They hated that I treated the inmates like the person they are. Now keep in mind, when you go through training and through orientation they make sure to remind you, had it not been for them committing a crime to wind up in jail, they’d be seeing their doctor on the outside for the same care they seek in the jail. When you’re out of orientation, this is complete and utter bullshit. Inmates are animals to many CHS employees. Their are a number of nurse i can count on my hands who could care less if they provided care to them, they just see it is a chore they get paid for.

Unfortunately, those like myself who were actually friendly with the inmates and -did- care about their well being, get axed. I definitely have many stories i’m -sure- The New Times would love to get their hands on, as well as other former employees wishing to finally be heard.
