It’s officially the State of Maricopa

I posted earlier about the House leadership and people were rightly concerned that the minority leaders are all from Maricopa County. Not just Maricopa County, but central Phoenix. The following day, the House GOP elected their leaders – of the three, the Whip is from outside of Maricopa County. Well today, the Speaker-elect named the commitee chairs. Of the 15 House committees, 2 will be chaired by members from outside of Maricopa County. You can see the entire list here. The Senate GOP leaders are also all from Maricopa County, as well as 10 of the 12 committee chairs. See that list here.

    Well that’s because God put most of the Republicans here. Think of it as Maricopa being like the Utah of Arizona.

    Further disappointment for a non-Maricopa county resident. But since I’ll be moving in a couple of months, maybe I should get on the bandwagon.
