I know this is going to come as a shock to many of you, but I think Joe Arpaio might be lying

Sheriff’s Office to transport inmates via light rail

Leaving aside that Arpaio is a sadistic creep who aims to use the light rail system as a modern-day version of public stockades, let’s examine his claim that the MCSO will save $72,000 in parking fees:

1. According to the airport, parking for Sheriff’s Deputies is free. All they have to do is inform them beforehand. Doesn’t seem too onerous to me.

2. Assuming that the $72k is an annual figure, let’s do the math:

$72,000/$25 per parking fee = 2880 trips to the airport requiring parking.

2880/365 days = An average of 7.89 trips to the airport requiring parking per day.

8 trips to the airport to transport prisoners per day = I call shenanigans, and for a long overdue audit of the MCSO.

Joe Arpaio. Straining credulity since 1993.

    Donna,

I am fairly certain that in Maricopa County, you get investigated for suggesting things like that.
