Where’s Dean-o?

and why isn’t his name being bandied about as a serious candidate for the director of Health and Human Services?

It makes sense, doesn’t it? I mean, Howard Dean’s a man who has experience as a doctor and politician, and he knows the kind of grassroots organizing we need to talk to the public about getting health care for all. He’d be perfect. But the most serious suggestion I’ve seen for him is in this Hardball interview:

Thankfully, there’s hope. If you support Dean, the Howard Dean for Secretary of Health and Human Services website has some tips for voicing your opinion. Don’t sit back on the sidelines for this one. We need someone who understands health care issues and who has a proven record with grassroots organizing. President Obama needs to seriously consider Dean as a candidate, and we’re the ones who should tell him.

Dean’s work isn’t done. We still need him. Who’s with me?

    I think he’d be great.

the job of Obama’s HHS secretary would be to move universal health care through congress… so I don’t think the guy who everyone knows dislikes congress, and congress dislikes him back, would be a good pick.
