Anecdotal reports, huh?

Tom Horne has decided to burnish his cred with the Arpaio Fan Club for his possible AG primary stop a cabal of radical Marxist instructors who seek to enlist the tender young minds of Tucson into their evil plot to eject white dudes like Tom Horne from their rightful place atop the social order replace Dr. King’s lofty principle of “character” with icky “ethnic chauvinism”. Note that the linked Tucson Citizen article is from back in November 2007. Doesn’t matter as it’s pretty much SSDD from Horne. Like Nessie from the Loch, this issue rears its ugly snarling mug whenever ol’ Tom is hungry for some earned media.
MLK references are so charming coming from people who traffic in bigotry and scapegoating, aren’t they? Look, Tom, when you refer to “character” I know that you mean “I see Don Draper when I look in the mirror!” And hey, since you’re so worried about what kids are learning, how about extending some of that concern to the ESL students you’ve been shortchanging for years by stonewalling the Flores decision? You know, so those kids can learn something? I guess that’s one way to make sure they aren’t exposed to that dastardly La Raza stuff in the classroom.

Did you see Representative Montenegro quote MLK in House Government committee this week? He was arguing for a free ride to the ballot for the Ward Connerly BS (SCR 1031 which he co-sponsored).
Ironic, because while Doctor King was alive the right was doing everything they could to destroy him, and for years after his death they continued to denigrate him and his reputation. Heck, it was only a couple of decades ago when they were up in arms over the idea of making his birthday a holiday, and it wasn’t because of the calendar either, as they will claim today, it was bluntly because they didn’t think he deserved a holiday.
