I fell asleep before I posted this last night.

Midnight has come and gone and a budget hasn’t been passed. Tedski drove all the way out here and liveblogged so I didn’t have to.
I left at about 10:45 because I needed to feed my cat and change his litter. On the way out to my car, I passed by what appeared to be a tailgate party. Rock tunes blared out of a big SUV, opened at the back, and about a dozen or so people were gathered round drinking beers. I’ve since found out that they were conservative lobbyists. Which explains why they were a bunch of preppy guys and gals with that “I’m desperately trying to un-bunch my undies” look about them, yukking it up over the awesome tax cuts they were getting for their wealthy bosses. Hope they enjoyed their awkward little beer-fest. I guess it’s another one of those IOKIYAR things. I bet you that poor people drinking in parking lots less than 3 blocks away from them got arrested that night for doing the same thing. Wonder which one of the lobbyists I saw swilling beer in that public parking lot works for private prisons.

I enjoyed Tedski’s live blog. I also tried to follow online with the live session but what a joke. Kyrsten Sinema gave great updates on Facebook and makes me believe there are still some of those ‘Mr. Smith” politicians who know who they serve. I’ve added your blog to my reader. Keep up the great work. ;)
Thank you, Vivian.
Donna, your post made me laugh. About a century ago, when I was single and dating, and found myself on a bad date heading for disaster I would tell the guy, “sorry, I have to go home and feed the cat.”
There are some similarities here…
