Chris Deschene For Governor! (someday)

I heard that Rep. Deschene (D – Window Rock) was offered $5 million for a Native American commission or something-or-other by Governor Brewer’s people in order to get his vote for her budget plan. He declined and then was offered $10 million. From what I’m told he said that they’d get his vote under the following conditions: $0.5 billion for water on the reservations and the resignation of the Governor, the Senate President, and the Speaker of the House. Hee hee.

    Wow. His predecessor would have rolled over for the promise of much, much, less.

    Chris is a great guy.

    I just hope that next redistricing commission they draw the lines south from the reservation instead of west, because I’d love to have Chris representing me in the legislature instead of “six thousand year old earth” Allen.
