Oh now I get what this Vegas thing is about.

When a commenter told me that Sal DiCiccio’s robocall was accusing Dana Kennedy of having ominous-sounding “Las Vegas connections” it left me scratching my head. I was like, what, did Jason Rose do a focus group and find out that Vegas has more negative connotations than even Gay Francisco?

As it turns out, conservative bloggers are having faux conniption fits over the fact that a fundraising PAC called “Citizens For A Better Phoenix” has a chair and treasurer who both live in Las Vegas. OMGWTFBBQ!!1!

Seriously, guys? What law was broken here? Answer: None. And where’s the outrage when voters in Arizona get push polled by the Club For Growth – an organization based in Northern Virginia – for state legislative races? How about when Arizona legislators sign loyalty oaths to Grover Norquist in DC and have to get his dispensation before they vote on something? What about those out-of-state contributors to the creepy SCA group? Remember how people in Utah took a keen interest in a marriage amendment on the Arizona ballot, spending a boatload of money and dispatching hundreds of volunteers here? Speaking of ballot initiatives, how’s Ward Connerly enjoying the weather at his home in Sacramento, California?

With the probable exception of the SCA, none of the aforementioned is illegal either. If conservatives are that shocked and concerned about out-of-staters influencing elections and hiding their origins – which the Citizens For A Better Phoenix didn’t do BTW – this is the first I’m hearing about it.

I still can’t stop laughing that this is ALL they can come up with.

Please, the group didn’t even donate money to Ms. Kennedy.

Thank you for posting these topics, since clearly they are being thrown totally out of control on the other blogs and AZcentral with the Jason Rose team posting.

Hey, for six years I had a Congressman who lived with his wife and family in Virginia.

And now that after waiting for decades to have a rual district, CD-1 finally does have Ann Kirkpatrick, a congresswoman who actually lives in rural Arizona.

So what does the GOP want to do about it? Import legislative retread Rusty Bowers from Mesa to represent us on our ‘rural’ concerns.

Let’s face it, they only have a national agenda. Communites are only dots on a map to the GOP, they just send people where they think they can get them elected.
