That press release is laughable. It’s easy to mislead people when omitting most of the facts.

Again, this illustrates Sal’s desperation. This non-story isn’t going to deflect questions about Sal’s 202 debacle.

In 2002, the Goldwater Institute took in $375,287 in revenue. It paid out $180,352 in compensation to officers and other salaries. It appears that nearly half of the charitable monies contributed to the organization went directly to the PERSONAL ENRICHMENT of the people running the organization in that year.

I don’t recall Jason Rose sending out a press release expressing his outrage at that. Maybe it’s because U2 didn’t do a concert here that year? Diane?

Here’s a link to the GI 990s. Note: Because they are a 501c3, they are not required to disclose who gives what contribution. But each year contains a list of “unpaid directors” with a few notable names.

I just have to say, they didn’t bother to look at 2004, 2005, 2006 where I put in my own money to the organization. I went part time with my other job to get Emerge to be a sustainable organization. When Jason sent out the press release I invited the reporter to come by my rich digs. They don’t even understand non-profits if they did they would understand that 501c4′s cant even write off donations and most likely don’t get grants. Now if I started a for profit company they would have no problem with that correct?
