Sadly, my feline friend, Leif Larson is not a troll, though he occasionally plays one on facebook. He is, he informs me, now the president of his own political consulting firm with offices and DC and CA. He is working with a candidate who is running against Alan Grayson in FL.

The advantage Republicans have is a simple message that’s easy to understand:

Government bad, taxes bad, illegal immigrants are taking your jobs, etc.

What might our comparable message(s) be?

How do we undermine the Republican brand and promote our own brand?

Oh, I forgot. The message is up to each candidate. We can’t have a brand. We’re Democrats. And we can’t be too partisan.

We will continue to lose races to these people because they are fluent in Idiot. While we mock the the low-information voter, they pander to them. Guess who wins in a state where large numbers of uninformed people vote who are riled up by megachurches and Mormon wards? Not them librul elitists! That’s fer shure!

Ever tried asking random people on the street sometimes if they can name even one of their state senators or state representatives? Try it sometimes.

They win because they’ve sold the Republican brand, certainly not because of the quality of their candidates.
