Happy Thursday Divaliciouses!

If you’re able to, watch me discuss Arizona issues with Brahm and Greg Patterson (Espresso Pundit) at 8:30 tomorrow morning. Here’s the link to Brahm’s blog on AZCentral: http://www.azcentral.com/members/Blog/Brahm1700/71537

And now for the thing I never in a million years thought I’d say:

I’m really glad to see that George W. Bush is involved in something.

I know. Shocking. But here’s the thing, President Obama reached out to GWB and asked him to join Bill Clinton to raise funds for Haiti. Bush has agreed to do it. It’s good for Bush to be involved in this for two reasons. First, Bush will be able to access large amounts of cash from his base among the “haves and have mores”. Second, as unpopular with the majority of Americans as Bush was when he left office, he still has pull with the conservative Christian base in this country. This is important because Rush Limbaugh seems to be actively discouraging contributions to the Haitian relief effort from the base because it could be a “win” for Obama. Limbaugh, the de facto head of the Republican Party, is telling his listeners that Haitians produce nothing and that the U.S. has already given its contribution to Haiti in the form of income tax (whatever that means) so having GWB calling for contributions might undercut Rush’s influence. I’m just guessing here, but my sense is that Bush has more credibility as a self-professed born again Christian on this issue than Rush, who stays fairly secular most of the time. I hope I’m right about that.

Please tell Greg and Brahm hello from me. I went out of my way on Monday to introduce myself to Greg at the State of the State. I asked him if he remembered me and he didn’t. He didn’t! I don’t think all the pictures he posted of me make me look that different in person.
I tried to explain the difference between a “charitable” organization and a 501c4 you would like that someone in politics and now an attorney would no the difference. Well as soon as he had an exit, to took it.
Have fun Donna and I have no doubt you can stand your ground.
    Go get em!

Gah! What is it with you and early AM on the weekend.?

Sorry. My cynical cat side notices that GWB had to be asked.

“Step up? That’s on the front porch.”
