Bookmark this site! It’s Skeptical Science: Getting skeptical about global warming skepticism. The good folks there are compiling global warming denialist arguments and providing quick rebuttals to 91 of them. Sample:

Skeptic Argument vs What the Science Says

1 “It’s the sun” In the last 35 years of global warming, the sun has shown a slight cooling trend. Sun and climate have been going in opposite directions.
2 “Climate’s changed before” Natural climate change in the past proves that climate is sensitive to an energy imbalance. If the planet accumulates heat, global temperatures will go up. Currently, CO2 is imposing an energy imbalance due to the enhanced greenhouse effect. Past climate change actually provides evidence for our climate’s sensitivity to CO2.
3 “There is no consensus” That humans are causing global warming is the position of the Academies of Science from 19 countries plus many scientific organisations that study climate science. More specifically, 97% of climate scientists actively publishing climate papers endorse the consensus position.

Click on each rebuttal, and you get an in-depth explanation. This is a godsend. It’s like a snopes.com on global warming for us non-scientists. They do a nice job on the “Climate-gate” email hubbub.

I like the one “If there was global warming why is there so much snow back East?” Sorry dear, I don’t argue with primates.

    Similar thread, and totally snarkalicious

    Donna,

I have been wondering why you global warming believers have been so quiet. I want to thank you for actually posting specific facts .

” “It’s the sun” In the last 35 years of global warming, the sun has shown a slight cooling trend. Sun and climate have been going in opposite directions. ”

I would like you to post a link to the evidence, if you would be so kind .

” 2 “Climate’s changed before” Natural climate change in the past proves that climate is sensitive to an energy imbalance. If the planet accumulates heat, global temperatures will go up. Currently, CO2 is imposing an energy imbalance due to the enhanced greenhouse effect. Past climate change actually provides evidence for our climate’s sensitivity to CO2. ”

That is pretty vague . Can you show that past warming periods were influenced by CO2 ? The most obvious, is how do you explain the medieval warm period circa 1,000 AD ? It was as warm or warmer than now .

” More specifically, 97% of climate scientists actively publishing climate papers endorse the consensus position. ”

That is changing fast . A lot is coming out how your guys stopped the publication of any articles that questioned the so called science of Global Warming . How any publication that did allow such articles were punished . Also when you declare something in science, you have to release your data so that other scientists can replicate your results . Your boys at East Anglia have not done that.

You remember Phil Jones, one of the main culprits in this scam . He has now admitted that his data for surface temperature cannot be verified .

The scientific evidence for man made global warming is falling apart .

Go to the damn website Alan. Honestly, nothing worse then a lazy troll.

    Appleblossom,

” Go to the damn website Alan. ”

    Such language, I’m shocked .

Ok so the website is the proof . Well the website does say that there are all kinds of data, they even have a pretty graph showing the Sun’s output cooling and the earth’s temperature rising over 35 years .

I would accept that as proof , except that Phil Jones, one of YOUR experts now says that there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming over the last 15 years .

So who is lying ? Jones or your website .

Also I read the full explanation of point 2 on the site . Pure sophistry .It drones on and on about past warming periods proving the earth’s sensitivity to CO2 accumulation , but then gives no proof or explanation of any correlation between Co2 levels and past warming .

Phil Jones: I’m 100% confident that the climate has warmed. As to the second question, I would go along with IPCC Chapter 9 – there’s evidence that most of the warming since the 1950s is due to human activity.

    Appleblossom,

” I’m 100% confident that the climate has warmed. ”

I’m not . First of all there is growing evidence of the unreliability of the temperature sensor data . Many of the sensors were near human produced heat sources . I read the excuses on your website about how “a process of homogenisation ” adjusts for this . Sounds like a way to make the data say what you want .

” there’s evidence that most of the warming since the 1950s is due to human activity. ” After reading parts of this section, the only evidence seems to be that the IPCC says it’s highly likely . Maybe you can find the evidence I missed .

Now as far as my personal observations in Eastern Pa. for the last 37 years that I’ve worked outside jobs. We have had warm years and cold years . Wet years and droughts . The trend is, there is no trend .

There is none who are so blind as those who refuse to see.

    Appleblossom,

” There is none who are so blind as those who refuse to see. ”

    We agree .

I hope you will continue to defend global warming since you so passionately believe in it . In the coming months more evidence will continue to leak out that the science was deliberately misused . In England where they are ahead of us on the Climate Change wave, even the left wing press is going after the global warming boosters .

I dare you to leave the American lapdog media sites and do some critical research on your own .
