It’s not “appearing only in your personal capacity” when you’re wearing your uniform, Sheriff Babeu.

A uniform carries power because it reflects the authority and trust of the public that chose it. It’s a violation of military regulations to wear your uniform “for the furtherance of political activities” if you’re on active duty, and even former military members are prohibited from appearing in public in their uniform with the exception of certain ceremonial occasions. Maybe there is no bar to an elected peace officer in Arizona wearing his uniform to promote his preferred candidate. But when you’re in uniform you are never representing only yourself, Sheriff Babeu.

I don’t have ears here, but ‘ol John (spartacus) McCain sure seemed to be channeling Chuck Norris.
Resolute!
Reliable!
Conservative!
Sounds like my Taurus.(yeah,yeah)
I agree, said officer should be in civvies. He works for the state with that uniform, not his own political agenda. He shamed it.
I wonder if McCain cut him a check for the afternoon of work filming the commercial?
It sort of seems as though Babeu, is kinda a Sheriff Joe Minnie Me??
Not sure what his motive is??
Though Pinal County is a corridor, it is far from the border, furthermore, it is NOT the MAIN corridor.
On top of them, facts;
there are NO Home Depots, or Lowes, that Day Laborers, usually congregate at??
Then, he puts up some “rhetoric” to say, that the smugglers, purposely “cause”, accidents, in his county??
Though, I’m sure, there has been “accidents”, I wonder how he can come to the conclusion, that they were caused on purpose??
On top of all that? It NOT his dept, that has the MOST or any MAJOR apprehensions in his own county, its the DPS.
In fact; I am not sure they have any at all?
Save for;
the outcome of the “very suspicious”, circumstances behind the recent Pinal Deputy shooting??
So what his motive??
Is it to eventually succeed Arpaio??
