It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s an overpaid fatcat public servant! No wait! It’s an anchor baby!

The other day the AZ Republic ran a USA Today story on the front page about how federal and state government employees are much more highly compensated than private sector workers. Like much, much more. It’s soooo unfair to you, private sector worker. Because the problem is that those Gubmint workers make too much and not that you make too little. Yes, do ignore decades of having manufacturing and tech jobs sent overseas, to be replaced by crappy low wage service jobs, and focus your wrath on teachers and firefighters. Especially the retired ones. I mean, WTF, those pension-grubbing loafers aren’t even teaching and firefighting anymore! Walmart (number 1 employer in Arizona) is hiring!
Today’s Two Minute Hate is another front page USA Today report about “illegal-migrant births”. Which are “soaring”. That’s the headline. The article itself is balanced but I think the intent of that headline and the placement above the fold on the front page is pretty unmistakable. Our problem isn’t the billionaires who wrecked the economy and Republican politicians obstructing every effort toward a solution. It’s those anchor babies.

what they keep missing in the public sector thing is the lower-paid work is contracted out–you know, what’s that word, oh yeah, PRIVATIZED–and those figures aren’t included in the averages that have been floating around.
dude,
Even with lower paid work contracted out, there are too many government workers. In the ‘private sector’ if you are subject to losing your job. In the public sector you have more job security. The lower paid public employee took security in a trade off for lower pay. Now they don’t even do that.
By the way, are you a public employee, or just on public assistance ?
Donna,
” Our problem isn’t the billionaires who wrecked the economy ”
Can you name names and how they did it ?
” Republican politicians obstructing every effort toward a solution. ”
Why don’t you try the facts? Republicans could not obstruct and you are making excuses for the massive failures of Obama. Obama got more of what he wanted than Bush did. Bush never had the majorities in Congress Obama had.
Even with getting nearly everything he wanted from Pelosi and Reid, Obama is a failure. Blame Republicans all you want. America knows the truth.
Just where are all of those jobs President Obama promised ? Why didn’t Socialism work this time ? Why didn’t the Stimulus work ?
What went wrong?
I don’t how you have any legitimacy in this conversation Alan, after all, you were never in the military.
Socialism has to be actually implemented in order to work or not work.
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/01/business/01hedge.html this is a list of people to blame.
Granted a couple do not appear to be billionaires.
Since many of my posts on your blog are not responded to, I do not frequent your site anymore.
Sigh-
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.
It’s Friday! That means family pics. La-de-da..
Appleblossom,
I give you full credit for including George Soros in your list of evil Kapitalist Pigs. He is the Left’s Sugar Daddy. He was a currency speculator.
dude,
” I don’t how you have any legitimacy in this conversation Alan, after all, you were never in the military. ”
Were you in the Military ?
Soros may be a sugar daddy for some people on the left but he is in no way a leftist as he believes mostly in supporting democracy.
No, Alan Scott, I was not in the military, but unlike you I don’t feel a grave inadequacy because of it.
dude,
I also do not feel a grave inadequacy about not serving in the military. I merely state that your side uses it to delegitamize people on my side. But isn’t that always the way. You guys use race, class warfare, and other divisions against your opponents.
Ohh,,, and by the way didn’t your boy Harry Reid say in 1993 that no sane Country would give citizenship to the babies of illegal aliens? Which Harry Reid are we to follow? That one, or the one who cannot understand why there are Hispanic Republicans.
Donna,
Remember in the last two elections how the press, bought and paid for by the Democratic Party, used any Republican scandal to tar and feather the whole GOP. ” The culture of Corruption” BS? You do remember ?
Well now that the tide is running the other way, I think it fair to take advantage of your party’s scandals. There are so many, but one is not getting it’s due.
You with your ” overpaid fatcat public servant ” thread have given me an opportunity. You have heard of the city of Bell California, where Democrats looted the local treasury for great salaries and perks?
The head guy Robert Rizzo received $787,637 in annual salary and $1.5 million in total package per year. There were others who did well also.
Funny isn’t it that every one who was in trouble a few years ago always had an R. by his name. Yet when Mr. Rizzo’s story broke, it was not readily apparent, what letter should go with him.
Well Mr. Rizzo, just for the Record is a Democrat. So are the rest of the well paid public servants in Bell. It’s also humorous that you used the term fatcat public servant. Physically as well as in spirit, the label fits.
There are failures in humanity in all political persuasions but you’re comparing apples with walnuts here, Alan. These were not elected posts and political ideology was not a factor in their winning the job. The people of the town did not throw their trust and support to a candidate who then betrayed them – these parasites were offered a job that they took advantage of. In my personal experience I’ve found that there are more Republican Christians who behave unethically in the workplace – they’ll pray about it later and ask forgiveness. I’d rather be served by a Democratic Atheist any day.
