What I love about the Democratic convention

Unlike last week’s GOP festivities, which could basically be summed up as “suck it, paupers” the DNC convention has been a positive and uplifting affair. But what’s even better is how the Democrats seemed to have gotten the memo that liberal positions are popular. I haven’t seen so many impassioned defenses of gay rights, reproductive rights, progressive taxation, investment in education and clean energy, etc. outside of Netroots Nation. Yay!

There have been too many good speeches the past two nights for me to recap but suffice it to say that all the speeches, but especially Bill Clinton’s speech, have proven that it’s possible to talk about liberal policies in an engaging way. That’s because liberal policies are good ones. Period. Yay!

I’ve been watching the Democrat Convention. Same old tired liberal talking points. On a scale of one to ten I give it about a four.

I did enjoy the the fact that the platform
committee took out the word God and Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. After a call from Obama they decided to put it back in.

I can imagine the conversation. Obama “what are you people thinking. We don’t want to tick off the Christians and the Jews. I need their votes.”

I liked the multiple voice votes and the loud dissent at the end.

Just saw the ratings for Clinton’s speech and the NFL game between Dallas and New York. Clinton got a 7 share and the football game had a 23 share. Seems more people watched the game instead of Clinton.

I’m disappointed, Mike. You forgot to whine about Sandra Fluke. I thought you guys had all your talking points.
