Things I learned at a mixer this evening

It was put on by the AZ Hispanic Chamber and Arizona Latino Research enterprise (ALRE). 1. Outgoing LD8 Senator Carolyn Allen (R) supports Democrat John Kriekard for State Rep in that district. “We need to get John Kavanagh out of there,” she said from the podium. 2. Brenda Burns has some major chutzpah. The Corp [...]

Refusing to debate or answer questions is a sign of arrogance, not strength

Jan Brewer won’t do another debate with Terry Goddard and she refuses interviews with unfriendly reporters. Ben Quayle has yet to agree to a debate with his CD3 opponent Jon Hulburd and is shying away from the press. Ditto Paul Gosar of CD1 and Jesse Kelly of CD8. State Senate candidate (LD17) Wendy Rogers was [...]

Brahm Resnik can’t quit me! I’m on Sunday Square Off again this week. Plus, a Jailbreak Jan related action item.

I’m on the panel with Greg Patterson and Stan Barnes. Yeah, I know, 2 against 1, but it’s mostly about the GOP primaries since so many of them are trainwrecks. As a voter in CD3, I know I’m going to miss the 10 candidate clown car that is the Republican slate. I’m rooting for Brock [...]

Phoenix City Council (District 6) Debate

The Phoenix City Council District 6 candidates debate at the Biltmore tonight (6:30pm). I’ll send periodic updates through Twitter, so follow DemocraticDiva to get updates as I tweet them. I’m not as pithy or sarcastic as Donna, but I’ll do my best to entertain. Disclaimer: I support Dana Kennedy but will be as unbiased as [...]

I’ll be on Channel 12 in the morning.

Providing my take of the debate between 5:30 and 6:30 am.   Which means I have to get up at horrible o’clock in the morning.  I don’t know about y’all, but I’m pretty frosted about that dismissal of “women’s health” by McCain.

It happens in the best of families…

Last night, I missed the second half of the debate to have a birthday dinner with two of my sisters-in-law and my ex-step-mom-in-law (complicated family relationships.  Let’s call them by their names.  Jen, Gina, Penny, respectively).  Gina is a democrat and an Obama supporter.  Jen and Penny are both republican McCain supporters.  In the restaurant [...]
