EJ Montini: Concern troll

Oh puke.

She has been a picture of grace and strength, an untainted symbol of resilience, recovery and hope. Admiration for her crosses party lines.

Why swim from the clear swift water of universal appeal to the muddy banks of partisanship if you don’t have to?

And Giffords doesn’t have to. Particularly not in a mayor’s race.

If and when she decides to return to public life there will be plenty of opportunity to play the partisan game. Her grit and determination over the past eight months have been a lesson in rising above all that.

She should stay up there a while longer.

Duly noted, EJ.

Seriously. I couldn’t believe this. It’s ok for Gabby to be a saint/close-to-being martyr, but not ok for her to be a politician? Really? EJ, please — it’s not 1967.

We’re almost halfway between last election day and next election day.

Honestly, I don’t think Gabby herself would ever choose to play the sympathy card (even though she has it) so why should Montini be telling her to play it?
