Good to know the Maricopa County Attorney has nothing better to do than insert himself into the CD9 race

Sonaran Alliance posted an Arizona GOP press release demanding that Democratic CD9 candidate Kyrsten Sinema release a list of her criminal defense clients. I’m not going to link to it but if you’re curious you can find it on your own. Normally I would ignore it as the sort of last-minute flop sweat of Vernon Parker’s sinking campaign but this press release caught my attention because Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery used his name and official title to attack Sinema simply for being a defense attorney at one point in her career.

Phoenix, AZ – Maricopa County‘s top law enforcement officer, County Attorney Bill Montgomery, is demanding that Democratic Congressional candidate Kyrsten Sinema support her claim to having been a criminal defense attorney and reveal which cases she worked on.

Montgomery may not have technically violated the code of ethics for his profession and position as an elected officer of the court but this is unbecoming behavior nonetheless. Moreover, he ought to know that Sinema’s duty to her clients (who may still have pending matters) certainly outweighs the idle curiosity of Lookie Lous in the Arizona Republican Party. Shame on him. Montgomery is veering perilously close to retreading the steps of Andrew Thomas with this nonsense. He was supposed to be better than that, remember?

I urge all the voters in CD9 to vote for Vernon Parker. Sinema would be nothing more than a lapdog for Nancy Pelosi.

Mr. Slater, we all know the only reason you cannot stand Rep. Pelosi is that she is a zillion times more effective at getting stuff done than either the current dude or the last three Republican Speakers.

Mr. Slater, when are you going to hang out somewhere else. I don’t like your creep factor stinking up Diva’s place. Begone troll.

Nancy Pelosi is such an effective member of congress and inspiring woman. That’s probably why all the right wing wackos absolutely lose their shit at the thought of her. It’s actually funny really, so many red-faced unfulfilled man children and their cute little misogynistic rants against such an accomplished leader.

    T. are you must be talking about Obamacare where Nancy said we have to pass it to see what’s in it. BTW, not one Republican voted for it.

Not leaving, bashing liberals is kinda fun.

    nugatory

    nu·ga·to·ry (ng-tôr, -tr, ny-)
    adj.
    1. Of little or no importance; trifling.
    2. Having no force; invalid. See Synonyms at vain.

Montgomery is making a complete ass of himself. If this is such a critical issue, why do you bring it up less than a week before the election?
This is a blatant attempt to stir up a storm by trying to intimidate Sinema (riiiiiight) into giving up cases that may have included defendants who were murderers, rapists, etc. He doesn’t really think she wasn’t a criminal attorney, he just wants the names to smear her with.
Nice abuse of office. What’s next? Go after judges for their decisions?
This abuse of power worked out well for your predecessor.

If there was anything to this and Montgomery had any balls, he would file a complaint with the State Bar.

Ahem. Troll wanks to any kind of attention. Just sayin’.

You have the attorney’s intentions wrong, frankly. The reason for calling for the release of clients is because Ms. Sinema bragged that she is a criminal defense attorney who represents murderers, an extremely high accomplishment & vital to our government). In fact, this, like so much of Ms. Sinema’s claims, appears to be a horrible lie. Why? If you are indeed a defense attorney or prosecutor, you will assuredly be sending documents to the court as respects your clients. For example, you will usually write an appeal even in the most desperate of cases to give your client that last ounce of protection the law affords. So what happens when you check Ms. Sinema on this vital finding? Here. Check for yourself. Go to the docket & type Kyrsten Sinema.

    Sorry. No results found.

Goose egg. NO DOCUMENTS. NO APPEALS. NOTHING.

Now try a real criminal defense attorney. Mr. Raymond Kimble, a former police officer. Love to have him in my corner the next time I get nailed with a speeding ticket. What about him?

See a difference there? One benefit of getting involved in this, by the way, is the opportunity it affords to show off the best defense WE have against dictatorship. It’s those defense attorneys protecting the rights of the foulest murderers. That’s one thing you mean when you say “I support the constitution of the United States.” What you mean is that the head of the Latin Kings & Queens, if arrested, gets the same rights that Speaker Boehner & Senator Reid get in a US Court of Law, no more, no less. That’s really, really true. It is actually an honor to present you folks with the names of some of YOUR finest defenders! Ms Sinema, unfortunately, does not appear to be one of them. No. She is simply a dishonest person pretending to work in the public interest.

My objection isn’t to the AZ GOP engaging in cheap political theatrics right before an election. I expect that. My problem is with County Attorney Montgomery getting involved and lending his official title to the effort.

Perhaps she’s planning a few murders after she loses & wants to be protected from the death penalty by these bills. Anyways, look at her rap sheet, which includes speeding in a school zone (if a kid got killed that would be called manslaughter),

    HERE

Bruce Ash and his invisible liberal friend and this one make quite a GOP trio.

I looked at the results for Mr. Kimble and all they appear to be is a series of admin orders. It would be very surprising to see either Mr. Kimble or Senator Sinema the way that one can search the Superior Court’s website since the two of them are attorneys not parties to any cases.
