GOP legislators’ cowardly backdoor effort to circumvent Prop 108.

I’m talking the one passed in 1992 that requires a 2/3 majority of votes to raise revenue. Both the sales tax referendum and the one to undo 1998’s voter protection act are nothing more than attempts by those yellow-bellied morons to raise revenue without having to, you know, vote on it themselves and displease their Bathtub God, Grover Norquist.
The attempt to yank voter protected funds is particularly insidious but, luckily, it will probably be destroyed at the polls. I mean, how are they going to sell it?
“We, the bathtub thumping morons of Legislature, who couldn’t get a budget passed despite numerous special sessions and all kinds of weird drama with each other and the Governor, want you, the voters, to give us control of the money in programs that you voted into existence, because we clearly know better than you what it should be used for. We’re going to take the money from early childhood programs and give tax cuts to rich people as Grover God wants.”
Seriously.

That’s the Republican philosophy in a nutshell: Poor people have too much money and rich people don’t have enough. Reverse Robin Hood.

Hostess, you know you are preaching to this choir. Seems we the ignorant voter have to make the hard decisions, yet when it comes to their hands tied about money, we don’t know what we’re doing.
