I didn’t realize “neutral” meant “purity”.

The Daily Beast reports that a pair of former Girl Scouts and some social conservative groups are condemning GSA for having a “pro-abortion mindset” and harboring a “radical feminist agenda”. Oh my.

The events that transpired at the conference, as stated on the Volanskis’ blog, were perceived as part of GSUSA’s “corrupt” plan to promote “Planned Parenthood, promiscuity, and abortion to their members, as well as a political agenda.”

“They have for years steered girls toward sources that have an agenda while saying at the same time they’re neutral,” says Susan Riedley, the editor of HonestGirlScouts.com, a site that advocates for a return to “traditional” Girl Scout values of “truth” and “purity” and for the elimination of all sex-ed from GSUSA curricula.

Gosh, looks like social conservatives have GSA dead to rights promoting promiscuous harlotry. Or harlotrous promiscuity. Whichever. Oh wait. The Daily Beast piece notes that the critics of the radical feminists at the Girl Scouts offer an alternative:

Both the Volanskis and C-FAM suggest that if girls don’t feel compatible with the Girl Scouts, they should seek a scouting alternative such as the American Heritage Girls, a group that reflects a more “traditional” vision. As for the Girl Scouts, “We would like to see them put the focus where it should be, on character building and leadership activities,” says Tess Volanski.

I googled American Heritage Girls and found this:

In the past, the troop donated to the Women In Need shelter and the local Pregnancy Resource Center.

Further googling revealed that the pregnancy resource center the AHG Troop TX2010 donated to is likely the Raffa Clinic of Greenville, TX, which is for *shhh!* girls and women who have *had sex!*

Neutrality, anti-choicers, doesn’t mean what you think it does.

Donna, the point is, the Girl Scouts charter, registered in the Library of Congress states the word, “purity.” If Girl Scout execs decide to take the organization away from its charter, at the very least, they should proudly proclaim their intentions. Instead, they claim they are “neutral” and cowardly hide in the shadows of their cookie revenues. If you agree with GSUSA, then why not ask them why they are so ashamed to tell the truth?

HonestGirlScout, please tell me how you define “purity” before you attack GSA. What does that mean?

Donna, if you need ME to explain what “purity” means, you are too far gone to save. And it is not an “attack” if one merely tells the truth.

Well, at 42 years old, and unmarried my whole life, I guess I am.

Which is why you focus so intently on the young girls, right?
