Didn’t take long to find out he’s a Birther. Quelle surprise.

I see he stopped responding when the guy who was posting answered all of the questions with facts that disagreed with the blogger.

with facts that disagreed with the blogger.

Dearest Appleblossom, in my opinion, facts always disagee with trolls. The gun barrel pointed at you is a suble and sophisticated touch. This one thinks it’s clever by trying to stir it up without ever really saying much. Hostess, I hope you sanitized after the link.

I did tell this guy that Donna made a mistake-she said conservatives were taking over but actually they have been voted out of office over the last couple of cycles nationwide.

    Arizona bucked the trend sadly.

I don’t think I made a mistake. I was talking about state legislatures and local offices and the trend of the past decade of reactionaries getting elected to them because the GOP has driven out the moderates and these are low turnout elections where people like Sylvia Allen and Michele Bachmann (who got her start in the MN legislature) win. If you’re talking about Congress, then you’re right – conservatives are getting kicked out. But not as much in the state houses, and certainly not in AZ. Our lege got MORE right wing, not less.

On second thought, I do see your point, Appleblossom. Other states have seen Democratic pick-ups in the past couple of cycles, an encouraging sign and hopefully a harbinger for us here.

My main argument in the Clean Elections post is that the AZ Republic panel was advancing a bogus equivalence – “extremists of BOTH parties” – and claiming Clean Elections was responsible for rabid reactionaries winning election, while ignoring how Republican leadership of the past 2 decades paved the way for them.

Actually for me, the more right wing the Az logjamslature gets, the better. I’m thinking (hey, it happens), the more right wing they get and the less they actually do for most constituents, people are going to get more and more fed up. Might not get more Dems elected, but might get more centrists elected. Gahd, would someone take Russell Pearce and put him in a tank next to Ted Williams?

As a matter of fact, someone (I’m not sure who, but it was a good source) told me that Republicans have controlled on or both houses of the Arizona legislature since 1965 (riding Barry Goldwater’s coattails when he carried Arizona in 1964 and Johnson carried pretty much everything else.)

There are grandparents today who were not even born when Democrats last controlled the Arizona legislature.

But for every nut there is an even bigger nut out there:

    http://amazinggracebaptistchurchkjv.com/news.html

THIS is scary. This church is organizing a Halloween book burning.

And they intend to burn books by “heretics,” including by Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, James Dobson, Mother Teresa, the Pope and Bibles which are not King James Version because they are “perversions of God’s word.”

They are also burning music tapes, including rock, pop, country, Christian gospel music and

    Whew.

When James Dobson isn’t even fundamentalist enough for them, now THAT’S fundamentalist!

If looking at a decade then you are correct Donna but I was looking at the past two cycles.

The guy is still a troll.

It is pretty bad when you have to go to a visitors blog and then post on your own blog dogging them.

Oh yeah, time to go see if you ignored my questions yet again. :)

You got your answer Mr. Troll now go back to your delusional world where President McCain has started WWIII.

  12. Comment by Konfusing Kancer on October 15, 2009 12:16 am

@Appleblossom: I am not even quite sure if you answered my question…

In the Clean Election post Donna said, “However, rabid conservatives are taking over state legislatures all over the country.”

I want to know if she believes these people are being taking over or being voted in. There is a huge difference, don’t you think?

Your answer, Appleblossom, was neither, you said, “she said conservatives were taking over but actually they have been voted out of office over the last couple of cycles nationwide.”

OK, so she says rabid conservatives are “taking over” and you say that they are being voted out. Which is it? But that is not even my point. Whatever your excuse, these people are being voted in – and if they are being voted in, shouldn’t that count as a valid change of power?

Troll: How do you suppose I am a troll? I’d be delighted in hearing how I meet the definition of a troll simply because I have asked questions to the hostess.

  13. Comment by Eli_Blake on October 15, 2009 12:26 am

Dang, to get you to post a comment on my blog is the secret to say something terrible?

  14. Comment by Donna on October 15, 2009 1:05 am

Guys, the troll was fun for a while but now that we know he’s a Birther and a Ron Paul fanboy it’s time to stop feeding him.

  15. Comment by Appleblossom on October 15, 2009 6:51 pm

    Awww…okay Donna, whatever you want.

  16. Comment by Alan Scott on October 28, 2009 4:21 pm

    Donna,

Having been labeled a troll many times by liberals, I would like a definition of the term. I do not view myself as one. Also as a conservative poster, I’ve seen your liberal brethren post large volumes of dogma on my favorite sites, when you pin them down with specific questions. So how can you tell a troll from someone you just disagree with?

  17. Comment by Donna on October 28, 2009 5:16 pm

I haven’t called you a troll because you haven’t demonstrated any obnoxious trolling behavior here yet. Though I will say you are veering close to it with your repeated requests to me to provide proof that Glenn Beck distorts the facts that conforms to your ever-increasing standards. Basically, a troll is a disruptor who shows up on a blog to annoy the people who participate in it. A troll is not acting out of a sincere desire to learn, debate, or advance the conversation in any way.

  18. Comment by Alan Scott on October 30, 2009 7:11 am

    Donna,

I requested the information about Beck because I have found no way to definitively verify that Beck actually said what you claim.

I have found that many mistakes get made and repeated on blogs of both sides. Accuracy can slip in the heat of a discussion.

  19. Comment by Mister Guy on November 4, 2009 4:33 pm

“Alan Scott” is indeed a troll, as evidenced by his performances on an OR-based Right-wing blog that we have both posted on before. My advice is to just not waste your time on him. He’ll just keep twisting & turning and never admit that he’s wrong on anything.

“Konfusing Kancer” is just a young guy that’s apaprently, unfortunately had his mind taken over by some of the worst of the worst of the Right-wingers online. He’s not a troll per se, but he is, in fact, a birther and an admitted tax evader.
