Republican welfare recipients and their hypocrisy

Governor Jan Brewer was under federal investigation in 2010 for possibly improperly receiving Social Security disability benefits for her son Ronald, who was found to be not guilty by reason of insanity for raping a woman at knifepoint in 1989. Ronald wasn’t supposed to be getting SSDI after 1995 but investigators suspected Governor Brewer might have collected as much as $75K over a period of several years on his behalf without disclosing changes in his status to the Social Security Administration. The Feds chose not to pursue the charges but it has become a rather embarrassing story for the Governor and her office has responded, predictably, by sniffling that the charges are “political”.

Brewer’s statement said she believed the investigation was a politically motivated attack on her family. She said she believes it began with an anonymous complaint to Social Security before last year’s election.

Cry me a river, will ya? Had Jan Brewer not lucked into a successful political career by spouting simplistic social conservative platitudes and were simply Jan Brewer, x-ray tech of Glendale, whatever public assistance she and her family were getting (including everything going to her institutionalized son) would be characterized as “welfare”. She’d be exactly the kind of person whom Republican politicians call a “loser” and whom they derisively suggest should turn to churches and private charity. Because, you know, $619 a day for a state facility and $450 a month or so for disability is forcibly redistributing wealth from hardworking achieving Job CreatorsTM, isn’t it? And maybe she should be drug tested, like conservative lawmakers want other recipients of government aid to be.

    Ruh-roh!
Time for Jan Coughlin-Brewer to have DPS do a brown pe.. …um, illegal immigrant sweep.Stat!
“Look, something shiney!” always works for Joe.

Race baiting, homophobic strawmen, pandering, sweet heart deals for out of state prison corporations, removing Redistricting chair without merit, signing laws based on party prioriies not state needs, allowing herself to be overshadowed by Russel Pearce. Apparently this is okey-dokey in the eyes of the GOP faithful. Just good governance. Patriot!.
Bring up ethics, fudiciary duty, and honesty and it becomes a partisan political attack. How can you expect her to follow federal law when state law is so tricky (Mathis)? Just because she’s the Gov of Arizona, why should she be expected to follow regulations like the majority of private parties seem to do?

Betcha 10,000 Romney dollahs this gets spun as an attack on her son and her personal life.

Hee! Activist judges hand Brewer another steaming plate of STFU!
What the hell is Montgomery doing getting swizzled up in this? I’m sure laid off county workers understand that spending scarce money on not-politics trumps their employment.

Just because the red states receive the most welfare doesn’t mean the individuals that receive the welfare don’t vote Democrat. Do a little more research before hand

Most of that federal money the taker Red states get is not going to TANF welfare. You’re the one who needs to do research.
