Well-read right wing blog links to us in paranoid screed.

I checked Technorati to see who’s been digging on the Divas (ranked 403,191st!) and I found that we’d been linked to Protein Wisdom (ranked 3496th). It’s not an outright quote but a hot link to the word misogyny in this phrase:

Yet somehow it is those who have taken the definition as provided at face value who are endangering a (presumably heretofore) acceptable “conservative image” — one which from what I gather is an image that has under recent narrative stewardship become tied to mental illness, Nazism, fascism, homophobia (or homosexual self-loathing), xenophobia, misogyny, imperialism, racism, and latent extremist violence just looking for an opportunity to form itself into ragtag redneck bands of confederate flag-waving ex-truckers out to scapegoat a black president, slay friendly immigrants, and neglect needy minorities.

It links to all the posts under the tag Conservative Misogyny, most (perhaps all) are written by me and are substantiated observations that many conservatives are, well, misogynists. The post is basically Jeff Goldstein, the proprietor of the site, protesting a bit too much about a recent Dept. of Homeland Security memo warning of increased activity and recruitment by right wing extremist groups. Perhaps he should look to his own commenters to see why a lot of us find it hard to tell the difference between bitter gun-clinging teabaggers who merely want to protect the Constitution and individual liberty and bitter gun-clinging teabaggers who might pose a threat to others.

As for conservative misogyny, he could look at one of my commenters. Here’s someone who is obviously not a fan of this blog or this writer:

Donna Marie the bastard child

Donna you are such a looser with your pathetic rantings. You’re a lying and conniving (expletive). It’s no surprise that you and your sister are bastard children curtosey of you DC crack whore mom.

The genius Googled my name and came across an entry I made to an adoption search registry. You see, I was born in 1968 in Washington DC to a young, unmarried woman who placed me up for adoption. (Considering that the crack epidemic swept through the city in the 80s, it is unlikely that my birth mother was a crack whore. Although, so what if she was?) This was, by far, the tamest comment this troll made and nearly all the other comments made reference to me being a lover of abortion. So yeah, Jeff, I’d say I have some justification for linking conservatism – and certainly the so called “pro-life” kind – with misogyny. Tell you what, Jeff, I’ll stop talking about conservative misogyny when conservative misogynists stop giving me reasons to talk about it. Until then, the tag stays.

I was disappointed to see that you were linked on only the “conservative misogyny” tag, and not a few others, but at least it’s a start.
Protein’s post seems to brag that he and his pals are the only ones concerned about “defending the Constitution;” apparently they are well-rested and ready for action after taking the last 8 years off from this duty.

I love how that creep calls you a “looser.” I wish I knew what that was, and how I could become one.
